Oral presentations & posters

The call for abstracts covered both oral presentations and poster sessions. Accepted contributions were scheduled across the congress days, from Monday 6 March to Friday 10 March 2023, in rooms Sevilla, España 1+2+3 and España 4+5.

The plenary talk chair for the scientific programme was Delia Lacasta.

The scientific heart of the 10th International Sheep Veterinary Congress in Seville lies in its call for abstracts, which invited veterinary colleagues worldwide to contribute work on sheep health, welfare and production. Contributions were considered for oral presentations and for poster sessions, allowing both established researchers and emerging students to share findings across a broad range of topics. Submissions were handled through the congress scientific programme, with accepted work scheduled into the daily programme of the meeting in the Sevilla rooms.

The congress ran across the working days of the event, from Monday to Friday, with parallel sessions placed in the España halls so that delegates could move between plenary talks, oral blocks and poster displays. Accepted contributions were grouped into sessions reflecting the main themes of the scientific programme, with chairs and discussants helping to guide questions from the floor. Posters remained on view throughout the week, encouraging informal discussion between presentations and giving authors time to explain their methods and results in detail.

For prospective presenters, the abstracts section also carries practical guidance about the submission process, including how to prepare manuscripts, the subjects covered, and the notifications that followed review. Contributors who were selected were listed in the final programme and presentation materials, and their work contributed to the wider exchange of knowledge that the International Sheep Veterinary Congress has built over successive editions. Those unable to attend were still able to follow the published programme and outcomes afterwards.
