10th International Sheep Veterinary Congress · Seville, Spain · March 6–10, 2023
ISVC2023 International Sheep Veterinary Congress
Seville, Spain
Hotel Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento

Overview

The scientific programme ran from Monday 6 March to Friday 10 March 2023 across three session rooms of the Hotel Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento: Sevilla, España 1+2+3 and España 4+5.

Plenary talks were chaired by Delia Lacasta. The programme covered the history and evolution of the Merino breed, alongside invited communications, oral presentations and poster sessions contributed by delegates from around the world.

The scientific programme of the 10th International Sheep Veterinary Congress unfolded over the working days of the congress in Seville, Spain, arranged across several parallel session rooms so that delegates could follow the plenaries, invited communications, oral presentations and poster sessions throughout the week. Plenary sessions were chaired by a respected member of the sheep veterinary community, helping to set a welcoming tone for what was a genuinely international gathering of practitioners and researchers from around the world.

Among the themes explored were the history and evolution of the Merino breed, a subject of lasting interest to those concerned with sheep health, husbandry and productivity. Oral communications and poster contributions from veterinary colleagues and specialists filled the programme with practical, up-to-date material, while the structure of the week left room for discussion, questions and the informal exchange of ideas that characterises congress life. A published scientific programme document made the full day-by-day schedule accessible to attendees and to those unable to travel.

Attention was also given to the call for abstracts, with submission deadlines, author notification and acceptance details arranged in advance so that presenters could prepare their contributions well before the congress began. The programme was supported by a congress organisation including a scientific secretariat and an international committee, and complemented by registration arrangements, social activities, tours of Seville, venue information and accommodation options for accompanying persons, giving the meeting a complete and well-organised framework for participants and their guests.
