Information about the Local Organizing Committee

The 10th International Sheep Veterinary Congress (ISVC2023) was held in Seville, Spain, from March 6 to March 10, 2023. It was organized by the Spanish Association for Sheep and Goat Production (SEOC), a member of the International Sheep Veterinary Association (ISVA), in representation of ISVA.

The committees listed below were responsible for the local organization and the scientific content of the congress, from the scientific programme and the plenary sessions to the round tables and the poster presentations.

The committee page for the 10th International Sheep Veterinary Congress in Seville sets out the people and working groups behind a congress dedicated to sheep and goat health, welfare and production. The event was organized by the Spanish Association for Sheep and Goat Production on behalf of the International Sheep Veterinary Association, and the committees described here carried responsibility for the scientific programme, plenary sessions, round tables, oral communications and poster presentations, as well as the practical arrangements that made the meeting in Seville possible.

Congress committees are what turn an ambitious scientific meeting into a structured, welcoming event. A programme committee curates the schedule and shapes the balance between keynotes, plenary addresses and contributed papers, while an abstracts and submission committee handles the review of submitted work and the selection of oral and poster presentations for the technical programme. Additional groups typically oversee venue, tours, social activities and registration logistics, ensuring delegates can take part fully in both the scientific and the social dimensions of the week.

Because this gathering brings together veterinarians, researchers, practitioners and industry representatives from around the world, the committee structures reflect a deliberate balance of scientific rigour and accessible communication. Sessions cover topics such as flock health management, nutrition, reproduction, disease control, welfare and the economics of small ruminant production, giving attendees a broad view of where the discipline is heading and where practical gaps remain. Readers interested in the programme, speakers, abstracts or the congress overview are encouraged to explore the wider site for the accompanying sessions and related congress information.
